Fox Cancelled Us

By Lou on March 15, 2010

Due to unforeseen consequences we’re sorry to say that HolSumm has been cancelled. Thanks for checking us out, and because of that we thought we’d at least give you some free DVD bonus material in the form of unaired/unfinished pages and OLD work that was never suppose to see the light of day. You’ll notice that there are two pages up today, but just in their inked states. If you look to the right at the sidebar you’ll notice some bonus short stories. And if you go to the extras section you’ll be able to read the entire script for Issue 1 and view some super old original strips of the comic along with some old character/style sketches.

To all of our millions of fans, I bid you adieu.

The End of an Era

By Tim on March 14, 2010

I don’t really know what to say except, “Aloha”.

In case you don’t know, that can mean both hello, and goodbye.

Which is really what this is. The comic is still so new, that I should be saying hello, but since we’ve “been canceled” I’m saying goodbye.

We’re going out like we came in, with a bang. Lots of stuff from the 4 years Lou and I spent developing and designing the comic will be shared with you.

And then it’s kaput.

So, I’m sorry. It’s been fun, and I wish it didn’t have to end so soon and so suddenly.

I’d say “see you next time, but you likely won’t see me again.

So… Happy trails.

-Tim Summers

Inked Cast

By Lou on March 4, 2010

*Update: For those not following us on twitter, the cast page has been up for a few days now.

I planned to update the cast page today, but this week was also the week I needed to install my retail copy of Windows 7 (RC expired on Monday). Since then my comp’s been acting a bit quirky and I still haven’t renstalled all my programs yet.

Last night I was having difficulty coloring the cast images, because my wacom tablet wasn’t being recognized. I managed to “solve” the problem this morning before coming to work. Tonight I’ll be coloring the third page, so the cast page will be delayed until Friday most likely. BUT I didn’t want to leave you guys empty handed, so I figured I’d post the inked character profiles here. This way you can wonder who the hell these people are until they’re introduced and are on the cast page.

New Short Story Added

By Tim on March 2, 2010

Just a news post, to alert anyone who missed it, that in the side bar is a link to the Short Story: “Adventures of a Rock God”

On a related topic, if you check out the “Extras” You can see the lyrics to the song from AoaRG: “Hump & Slash”

Both of these are recommended 18 and up, and are NSFW. Please read the note at the top of AoaRG, before choosing to read the story.

Finally, I wanted to give a further shout out to a performer I mentioned in AoaRG.  Check out John Anealio’s song, “Summer Glau” – http://bit.ly/GBAfI and hit him up on twitter – http://twitter.com/JohnAnealio

Hope you enjoy it!

Welcome to HolSumm!

By Tim on March 1, 2010

Welcome to HolSumm! (The only free web-comic with a money back guarantee.)

What is HolSumm? HolSumm is a collaborative effort between Lou Holsten and Tim Summers. Together they form VOLTRON! Wait, that’s not right… When they touch their magic rings together and shout “Wondertwin powers activate!” Lou says: “Shape of Alanis Morrisette!” and Tim says: “Form of Emma Watson’s vibra–”

That’s not right either. Okay, so basically It’s a pseudo-biographical, completely fictitious web-comic about a pair of friends who decide to make a comic book. Yes, it’s a comic about making a comic. But it’s a lot more. It’s a story of love, loss, friends, fun, change, and everything else that life brings. Hell, it’s about life.

This is our magical, special, wonderful, launch week. Normally our comic would update on Mondays, This week is jam packed! The comic will post 3 times: Monday (Today), Wednesday, and Friday! The first of my HolSumm short stories “Adventures of a Rock God” Will go up on Tuesday. On Thursday The first post will go up in Tim’s Gaming Blog and the cast page will go up. The cast page is worth coming back to check out no matter what.

So, come on in, take off your pants and jacket. Stay for a while. Just don’t sit in Tim’s chair. He hates that.
